The Grocery Bistro – Lip Smack’in BYOB – CLOSED

I’m a total whore when it comes to BYOB dinners – I’m not afraid to admit that I’m a lush – but so are my friends, so I blend right in!!  The Grocery Bistro is the perfect way to spend a Saturday evening where the focus of the meal is from “farm to table”.  Delicious food and an ‘energetic’ environment (aka LOUD); I enjoyed the upbeat atmosphere, dim lights and of course, their BYOB policy.
My friend Nick suggested to try this restaurant nearby, half way between our place and theirs. …

Terragusto – Part II / Lincoln Park BYOB

Eight ladies were looking for a Girls Night Out – what a better idea than a spectacular meal and BYOB? With nearly 400 BYO restaurants in Chicago, we had a big decision to make! Several of us scoured numerous BYO options on the internet but decided on Terragusto because it was group friendly and in a convenient location & Michelle had dined here before and highly recommended it. (note: Michelle is not in the pic – instead, she was sun bathing on the beaches of Sydney…lucky girl…!)
Unfortunately the …

Habana Libre – BYOB and Stinky (in a good way!)

My third visit last night – this says a whole lot because the CFW crew seldomly has repeat restaurants. But this one meets the delicious, affordable and BYOB requirements that we’re looking for in a local favorite restaurants.
Chicago is just beginning to get chilly and my guests of the night are visiting from Dubai. They obviously, aren’t used to the cold. Taking them to Habana Libre was like driving to a restaurant and entering into a local restaurant in Havana (not that I’ve been to Havana, but …

“seh-MEER-a-mus”
I had to keep repeating it to myself all night – trying to remember the correct way to pronounce this restaurant’s name! It’s not “semi-RAMUS” I’ve been told!
Great, inexpensive and AUTHENTIC – walked in on a Saturday at 10pm and the place was still hopping! Service was quick and friendly and I was surprised at how cozy this place is! It’s brightly lit but has a very nice warm and romantic feeling to it.
Mmm..the food. I love kefta sandwich and its usually what …

I have seen this tiny Italian eatery many times on the way to Mr. Man’s house and it has always looked so cozy inside, with soft candlelight and couples nestled together. It’s quite small… about 10 tables plus 5 seats in the window. I told Mr. Man that we should try it one of these days, then promptly forgot about it until a few weeks later when he suggested a romantic Sunday night dinner there.
Despite not having a reservation, we were able to snag a seat in the front window. …
